Nieuwe baan man (06) on the move

Finance for Biodiversity (FfB) Foundation is announcing 10 new signatories of the FfB Pledge and reaching new milestones with 163 signatories from 25 countries, representing €21.7 trillion of combined assets (under management) in total. The launch of the new signatories is celebrated on the one-year mark of the adoption of the Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF) at COP15 in 2022.

The 10 new signatories of the Finance for Biodiversity Pledge are Aegon U.K., Big Picture Financial Planning Ltd., BPCE Assurances, CDC Croissance, Clear Skies Investment Management, Climate Resilient Africa Fund, ITMO Ltd., Jaguar Legacy Fund GP Inc., NaturAlly AG, and Şekerbank TAS.

Two of the new signatories – BPCE Assurances and CDC Croissance – are joining the community of members of the FfB Foundation. In addition, First Sentier Investors, a 2021 signatory, also decided to become a member. This increases the FfB membership number from 73 to 76 in total.

Marking a first presence in the African continent

With the new total of signatory financial institutions, the FfB Pledge closes its last signatory pledge round of 2023, with 163 signatories and €21.7 trillion of combined assets (under management) in total, representing an increase of €300 billion since the last round.

With Climate Resilient Africa Fund as a new signatory, the FfB community gained representation of a signatory from Egypt, marking our first presence in the African continent.

One year after the adoption of the Global Biodiversity Framework

The Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF) was adopted during the fifteenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP 15) in December 2022, following a four-year consultation and negotiation process. This historic Framework sets out 4 goals and 23 targets with the mission to halting and reversing biodiversity loss in 2030 and the vision to living in harmony with nature in 2050.
