  1. David Schofield

    David Schofield

    President, Intech International Division, Janus Henderson

    David Schofield is the London-based president of Intech’s international division. In this capacity David is responsible for managing and implementing the firm’s business outside of North America, a region which now accounts for around half of Intech’s total assets. Mr. Schofield’s position also incorporates a role as investment specialist, representing Intech’s proprietary investment process to investors and consultants outside of North America. Prior to his internal move to join Intech in June 2006, David was European business head for Janus Capital International with specific responsibility for developing the firm’s institutional activities in Europe, the UK and the Middle East, and had further responsibility for international consultant relations. Before joining Janus in 2001, Mr. Schofield spent 15 years in investment banking working with major institutional investors in Germany, France and the UK. During this time he worked for Salomon Brothers, Lehman Brothers and UBS in New York, London and Frankfurt. Mr. Schofield holds a Joint Honours Master’s Degree in Modern Languages from Oxford University, and is a published author of fiction.

    Diana Olteanu-Veerman is a Quantitative Equity Senior Strategist based in London. She joined Northern Trust AM in April 2019. Her previous most recent role was at Kokomo Capital Management in Hong Kong where she was a portfolio manager responsible for managing global quant portfolios. Olteanu-Veerman is a CFA charterholder and a member of CFA UK since 2003 and of the CFA Institute/AIMR since 1998. She is also an active member of the London Quant group.

    Jason Hsu is founder and CIO of Rayliant Global Advisors, a global investment management group with $16B assets track its strategies as of Dec 2022. Hsu co-founded Research Affiliates, a $140B investment manager specializing in Smart Beta indices and asset allocation. He authored more than 50 journal articles and 8 handbooks in finance and economics. He has won numerous awards including 4 Graham and Dodd Scroll Awards, 3 Bernstein/Fabozz-Jacob/Levy Outstanding Research Awards and 3 William Sharpe Best Research Awards. Hsu is also an adjunct professor in finance at UCLA.

    Jason Williams is a Portfolio Manager/Analyst on Lazard's Equity Advantage team. He began working in the investment field in 2001. Prior to joining Lazard in 2008, Jason was a Quantitative Portfolio Manager in the Pan European Active Equities group with State Street Global Advisors (SSgA), focusing on model development and performance evaluation. Earlier at SSgA, he was a Portfolio Analyst within Active European Operations. He has an MA in Finance and Investment from the University of Exeter and a BSc Honours in Mathematics from Coventry University. Jason is a CFA® charterholder and a member of the UK Society of Investment Professionals (UKSIP).

    Joe Hanmer is the Director of Quantitative Research for Fixed Income, responsible for the quantitative research function that develops systematic investment strategies and advises portfolio managers on relative value opportunities in credit, rates, asset allocation and FX. Joe joined Fidelity in 2011 through our graduate programme. After 2 years working across different investment disciplines including financial credit research, quantitative research and financials/corporate trading he was hired into the quantitative team. Joe works across the fixed income spectrum but with a speciality in credit, creating proprietary models that aid the portfolio management process in beta management, credit selection and bond relative value. Joe has also conducted pioneering work in the areas of ESG, smart beta and factor investing applied to fixed income markets.

    Mark Fitzgerald joined Vanguard's Portfolio Review Department in December 2013 and is currently responsible for ETF Product Management in Europe, having previously run PRD, Product Development and Product Management in Europe. Prior to joining Vanguard, Mark worked for BlackRock/ BGI where he spent 8 years in the Portfolio Management Group in various senior roles, lastly as a Managing Director, European Head of the iShares Portfolio Management Team and European lead for the Beta Strategies Index Research Group. Before BlackRock's acquisition of BGI, Mark was Head of Pooled Funds Equity Index Portfolio Management and the Index total return swap programme. Mark spent 7 years as a quantitative equity and fixed income portfolio manager at Deutsche Asset Management and Northern Trust before joining BGI. Mark holds a BA Hons in Business Studies and International Finance from South Bank University, London.

    Marlies van Boven, PhD, is a managing director in the Research Analytics team at FTSE Russell, and lead lecturer in Alternative Investments at Warwick Business School. Previously Van Boven was a senior investment consultant in Cambridge Associates’ Middle East & Africa team working with clients with a focus on hedge funds. Prior to that she was head of Quantitative Analysis and Portfolio Management at Baring Asset Management, responsible for the global investment process and fund manager of two hedge funds. Van Boven holds a Master (Hons) degree from Institute Coremans, Brussels and a PhD in Finance from Warwick Business School.

    Patrick Groenendijk, PhD, is hoofd fiduciair advies bij PGGM. In die rol is hij verantwoordelijk voor de advisering over de uitvoering van het beleggingsbeleid van PFZW (Pensioenfonds Zorg & Welzijn). Voorheen was Patrick Hoofd Strategie bij Shell Asset Management Company en daarvoor Global Head of Equity Strategy bij Northern Trust Asset Management in Chicago. Van 2005 tot medio 2014 was hij CIO van Pensioenfonds Vervoer. Patrick heeft een PhD van de Erasmus Universiteit in Rotterdam.

    Paul van Gent is onafhankelijk Lid van verschillende Beleggingscommissies. Tot maart 2020 was Van Gent Hoofd Impact Investing and Special Projects bij Corestone Investment Managers en lid van het Investeringscomité. Eerder was van Gent verantwoordelijk voor Manager Selection bij PME, het Nederlandse bedrijfstakpensioenfonds voor de metaalindustrie. Voordat hij bij PME in dienst trad, was hij hoofd Investment Consulting en verantwoordelijk voor de selectie van externe vermogensbeheerders voor de IBM-pensioenfondsen in de EMEA-regio. Van Gent is Bedrijfskundige, afgestudeerd aan de Technische Universiteit Eindhoven.

Peter is doctor in de wiskunde (TU Eindhoven) en is CFA charterholder.

Daarnaast heeft hij een gastvrijheids-overeenkomst met de faculteit der economische wetenschappen en bedrijfskunde van de Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam en doet hij researchprojecten. Van 2004 tot medio 2014 was hij CEO en CIO van De Eendragt Pensioen, een innovatieve pensioenverzekeraar. Daarvoor werkte hij als onafhankelijk consultant en tussen 1981 en 2000 als hoofd van beleggingsresearch afdelingen en beleggingsstrateeg van verschillende banken en het ABP.

    Thomas Kieselstein, CFO, CIO, Managing Partner, Quoniam, is co-founder and Chief Investment Officer of Quoniam Asset Management. As CIO, he oversees Quoniam’s Equity, Fixed Income and Multi-Asset investment teams. Prior to Quoniam, Thomas worked for DZ Bank and Dresdner Bank Investment Group. He has been developing quantitative investment processes for multi-factor equity strategies since 1994. Thomas obtained his MSc. in Engineering from the University of Karlsruhe.

    Wilco van Heteren geeft leiding aan een team van ESG analisten dat zich richt op ESG Risk Ratings van ondernemingen die vanwege hun grootte, controversiële aard of andere redenen in de belangstelling staan van klanten van Sustainalytics. Daarnaast richt dit team zich op trends in wereldwijde industrieën, het voortdurend verbeteren van de modellen die worden gebruikt bij het bepalen van de ESG Risk Ratings van ondernemingen, en het presenteren van ESG Risk Ratings aan klanten. Hij studeerde econometrie en filosofie en was eerder ruim 16 jaar werkzaam bij met name Robeco als aandelenbelegger en ESG engagement specialist.
