Maya Bhandari appointed as Global Head of Multi-Asset by BNP Paribas Asset Management
BNP Paribas Asset Management (‘BNPP AM’) announces the appointment of Maya Bhandari as Global Head of Multi-Asset, effective from 1st November. Based in London, she will report to Denis Panel, CIO of Multi-Asset, Quantitative & Solutions.
Bhandari will be responsible for further developing BNPP AM’s multi-asset business. In particular she will focus on strengthening the investment process, and delivering consistent and strong returns for clients. She will also contribute to BNPP AM’s thought leadership and fundamental research, which are at the core of BNPP AM’s investment approach, as well as the continued integration of ESG within our multi-asset offering.
Bhandari brings a wealth of skills to our business, with a strong investment process and consistent track record that is in the top quartile or decile over different periods. She joins from Columbia Threadneedle Investments where she was Executive Director of the Multi-Asset Portfolio business, managing and co-managing a global range of diversified growth, multi-asset income and institutional mandates. Before joining Columbia Threadneedle Investments, Bhandari was Director, Global Macro & Asset Allocation at Citigroup.
Bhandari was named as one of Financial News’ Rising Stars of Asset Management in 2017, and the team were awarded Insurance Asset and UK Professional Pensions multi-asset manager of the year for several years, including 2020.
She holds an MA in Economics from the University of Edinburgh and an MPhil in International Relations from the University of Cambridge.
